This section is designed to refine and optimize the search functionality by providing a set of tools that influence how search queries are interpreted and processed.

Below is the detailed explanation of the features under Dictionaries:

Synonyms: This feature allows the system to recognize different words or phrases that mean the same thing as equivalent in search queries. There are typically two types of synonyms:

One-Way Synonyms: The search engine will treat the specified term as equivalent to another term, but not vice versa.

If users frequently search for "water heater" but the product listings are under "geyser", setting "water heater => geyser" ensures users see the correct products.

Two-Way Synonyms: Both terms are considered interchangeable in search queries.

For terms like "fridge" and "refrigerator" which are completely interchangeable, a two-way synonym ensures that whether a user searches for one or the other, the same products appear.

Overrides:Overrides allow specific query terms to ignore standard search algorithms or synonym rules, ensuring that certain products or results are displayed for specific queries.

If a particular brand, such as "Mi", wants to override the synonym rule and show its products even when users search for "Redmi", which is a different line of products.

Protected Keywords:These are terms that you can mark to prevent them from being altered by the search engine's natural language processing. This ensures that the original meaning of the search term is retained.

If users search for a specific model number or a brand name that is also a common word, marking it as a protected word would prevent the search from misinterpreting it as a common term.

Stop words: These are commonly used words that are filtered out before or after processing a search query because they usually don't change the intent of the search.

In a query like "dresses for women", the word "for" can be considered a stop word as it does not contribute to the search intent. Removing it would streamline the search process without altering the meaning.

Vocab:This refers to the universe of all recognizable terms within the index. It includes all the terms that the search engine understands, including synonyms, protected words, and even stop words.
